Nominees in the Category were:  Estancia La Jolla Hotel & (La Jolla, CA), Los Abrigados & (Sedona, AZ), and Palm Canyon (Palm Springs. CA), Sheraton Carlsbad & (Carlsbad, CA), The Westin Mission Hills Villas (Rancho Mirage, CA), The Westin Kierland Villas (Scottsdale, AZ).

The winner is:  Sheraton Carlsbad for its Ocean Pearl .  Locating in the charming coastal community of Carlsbad, this is the second year the world class treatments were honored as number one in this category.  In 2008 the received recognition in the Best of San Diego Reader’s Choice Awards in the categories of Best Luxury Hotel, Best and Best Tapas (Twenty/20 Grill and Wine Bar).

Nominees in the Category were: Cedar Breaks Lodge (Brian Head, UT), Grand Timber Lodge (Breckenridge, CO), Lake Tahoe (South Lake Tahoe, CA), Lagonita Lodge (Big Bear Lake, CA) and Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley (Olympic Valley, CA).
